With its 2.8 hectares, Le Domaine’s park offers numerous possibilities. With such lush green vegetation at its disposal, the CIS decided to create two outdoor workshops.
Through these outdoor workshops, we offer our employees and interns the opportunity to work in direct contact with nature and benefit from its numerous advantages. Those Workshops also help us raise awareness among our staff about more sustainability production and consumption practices.
Affiliated with the Production & Services sector of the CIS, the Atelier Vert (the green workshop) manages the 2,800 square meters of the vegetable garden as well as the maintenance of the whole park of the Domaine.
The team consists of individuals in adapted positions supervised by a socio-professional mentor. Together, they are dedicated to produce high-quality fruits and vegetables in nature’s respect. They take pride in seeing those served at the various different restaurants managed by the CIS.
While the work remains physical, tools, machines, and techniques adapted to each individual’s needs are available to use. Whether it’s clearing snow from the Domaine’s access points, preparing the soil for planting, or harvesting the produce, the work is adjusted to ensure every employee enjoys the experience.
This animal workshop is an activity provided by Crescendo, our rehabilitation center, for people referred to us by the Invalidity Insurance (AI) offices, among others, with the goal of returning to the professional world after getting through an illness or an accident.
Thanks to the animals, the trainees evolve in a caring and non judgmental environment to help them get back gently into a work routine. It also helps them to reclaim their working environment and it’s very beneficial in helping them rebuild their self-confidence as well as getting a newfound positive taste for professional activities and responsibilities.
If the trainees delightfully take good care of the animals, in return the animals will reward them by giving them their complete trust and even more affection. It’s a rather sizeable source of well-being for people going through a difficult period.
